Case Study

Preston Rentals SuperDecks have continued to assist numerous project sites across Canada with efficient material handling solutions. A recent project in Vancouver required short notice assistance when they discovered their current equipment wouldn’t allow them to complete the upper stories of this impressive building. We were delighted to join the party and allow our specialised gear to provide a suitable and helpful solution.

A Vancouver High Rise Office Building located in Downtown Vancouver BC is quickly soaring upwards as the 33-storey office tower development takes shape. When a late challenge unfolded on the final floors of the build, the Project’s Senior Superintendent contacted us at Preston Rentals after having previously been made aware of our SuperDeck product and the unique applications it can provide. After scoping the requirements we confirmed that our SuperDecks would be perfect for their needs.

Sub decks had been used for the majority of this build, however late in the project it was identified that there was no lift access to the top 4 floors and a solution was required.

Our Solution
Our Preston Rentals SuperDecks provided an ideal solution allowing the customer to vertically stack access into the building for crane preload. 4 of our 3.2m SuperDecks were installed vertically on the upper floors. This vertical access was important as it allowed the maximum number of windows to be installed on each floor with minimal work left after the decks were removed.

It was reported that the overall SuperDeck experience was very good. Setup was easy and our customer confirmed they operated as advertised. We pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service and went over and above to ensure a smooth, hassle free installation. The merits of the SuperDeck and minimal work required once removed from a floor delivers major cost and time benefits we believe many sites can gain from.
